The year is 1518, and young caballero Pedro De Vargas is living in Spain. His life is peaceful until he offends his sadistic neighbor, De Silva, who is an officer of the Inquisition. Faced with no other option, Pedro, his friend Juan Garcia, and his adoring servant girl Catana flee and join Cortez’s first expedition to Mexico.

Upon arriving in the new land, Cortez decides to switch from exploration to conquest, despite having only 500 men. Pedro and his companions find themselves in a whirlwind of adventures and romance, but Pedro is never far from the reminder of his deadly enemy.
